JLC LIVE Conference Program: High Energy, High Returns

Residential construction professionals converged on the Rhode Island Convention Center March 23 - 26 eager to learn and do business. The re-vamped 2011 New England event provided attendees with more exhibits, new show features and an expanded conference program. Over 55 business topics on sales, estimating, social networking and marketing comprised the 2011 conference program.

Rising energy prices generated increased demand for topics on maximizing energy-efficiency to improve a home’s performance – nearly30% of this year’s courses fell under the Energy and Building Performance Track and almost all were fully attended. This year’s conference also offered the EPA, MA, RI RRP Lead-Safe Renovator Training, plus four other classes on lead. An Add-On Technology Pass was introduced, which provided attendees with a package of five classes and unlimited two-day exhibit hall admission at an introductory price of $140.00.

“The high energy level at this year’s conference combined with the positive feedback on the course content re-affirmed the conference program’s mission of providing education as an investment in themselves, their employees and their own futures,” reflected Sherry Daniels, Conference Manager for JLC LIVE Residential Construction Shows. “It was great to see so many returning attendees and to meet new ones. After Conference Sessions, each day wrapped with a special networking event – a Happy Hour and Dinner at Ardeo’s on Wednesday; “Laugh & Learn” Happy Hour moderated by Sal Alfano of Remodeling Magazine on Thursday; “Rock and Blues” Welcome Party on Friday at the Rhode Island Convention Center; and Complimentary Beer in the Exhibit Hall on Saturday at noon.

When the show closed Saturday afternoon, many conference attendees were still in the classrooms continuing to tap into the speakers’ expertise on growing their businesses. The excitement and buzz of this highly anticipated annual regional event translated into a total verified attendance of 6,942 (9% increase over the 2010 event) and 206 exhibiting companies (a 15% increase over the 2010 event).
